We regret to inform  that Mikhail Akhmetiev, chairman of the Russian Paleocene Working Group of ISPS, passed away on 17 October 2020, at the age of 85.
This is a very sad loss for our community, and we will always be grateful for his contributions in the field of paleobotany and biostratigraphy of the Paleogene, and for his collaboration with ISPS.
